COLLEGE FOUNDERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS ON 4TH JULY 2017

The college celebrate the Founders’ Day on 4th July  every year.  This year also celebrated the same programme in our college at quadrangle.  The members of the Governing Body, President
Sri Kommareddy Rambabu, Secretary Sri NVK Durga Rao, Correspondent Sri U S Ramaprasad and other dignitaries participated in the celebrations.   Principal Dr A Veerabhadra Rao presided over the function. Retired faculty members of our college were felicitated at this occasion.  Cultural programmes were followed after the meeting.  More than one thousand students participated in the celebrations.


MOTIVATION TALK TOWARDS ALL INDIA CIVIL SERVICES

ADDRESSED BY 3RD RANKDER IN CIVIL SERVICES EXAM IN 2016 –

SRI R GOPALAKRISHNA on 4th AUGUST, 2017

Department of History arranged an inspirational talk on civil service Examinations on 4th August 2017 in our college Auditorium. Sri R Gopalakrishna, 3rd Ranker of Civil Services Examination , 2016 UPSC, New Delhi. Mr Gopalakrishna gave an inspirational talk and unlighted the student community how to select a the subject and preparation.  He shared his experience in the time of selection of medium of examination and selection of subject.  He appeared in Telugu medium. He faced the exam without coaching from any coaching institutions. Final year degree students of all discipline nearly 600 in number attended the programme.  Our college Secretary and Correspondent felicitated Mr R Gopalakrishna on this occasion.  Principal Dr A Veerabhadra Rao presided over the programme.


 Celebration of 146th Birth Anniversary of Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the first Chief Minister of Andhra State

Department of History organized the celebration of 146th Birth Anniversary of the first Chief Minister of Andhra State on 23rd August, 2017 at Auditorium.  Mr. Vincent Paul, Head of the Department of English, Sir C R Reddy College, Eluru delivered a Guest Lecture on the biography and his achievement in his political career. Principal Dr A Veerabhadra Rao presided over the meeting.  Dr B Emmanuel, Head of the Department and other faculty members participated in the programme.  230 students from different disciplines participated in the Programme.

CENSUS INDIA

ON 30TH AUGUST, 2017

 

The Department of History of our college arranged a Guest Lecture programme on Census India on 30th August, 2017 in college Auditorium.  Sri G Balaji, Joint Director, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi delivered a lecture on the Census Programme in India.  He explained how the census will be conducted through out India per every decade and what are problems faced by the enumerators when the census will be collected.  He also told that purpose and benefits of the
Census.  Principal Dr A Veerabhadra Rao presided over the meeting. Dr B  Emmanuel, Head of the Department of History, Mr. M Vincent Paul, Head of the Department of English and other faculty members participated in the programme.  465 students from different disciplines were participated.

BUILDING A NEW CAPITAL FOR NAVYA-ANDHRA PRADESH –

ISSUSES AND CHALLENGES

ON 31TH AUGUST, 2017

 

            The department of History organized a Guest Lecture programme on ‘Building of a new capital for Navya-Andhra Pradesh; Issues and Challenges’ on 31st August, 2017 at College Auditorium.  Mr. MVR Devaraj, Junior Lecturer in History, Government Junior College, Tadepalligudem delivered a lecture on the said above topic.  345 students participated in the programme.  Principal Dr  A Veerabhadra Rao presided over the programme.  Dr B Emmanuel Head of the Department conducted the programme. Faculty members of different disciplines participated in the programme.  


One day work shop on

EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT

ON 9TH SEPTEMBER, 2017

The Department of History organized an One-Day Workshop on ‘Education and Employment’ on 9th September, 2017 at college Auditorium.  Sri R Surya Rao, MLC of the East and West Godavari Districts Teachers’ Constituency and Sri K Lakshmana Rao, Ex-MLC, Guntur participated in the work shop.  Trade Union leaders from different organizations also participated in the work shop.  Dr. A Veerabhadra Rao Principal of our college presided over the workshop.  Dr. B Emmanuel, Head of the Department of History convened the programme,.  Faculty members of the department History Ms SAL Kalyani and other participated. 578 students also participated in the workshop.

 



GUEST LECTURE PROGRAMME ON HINDI DAY ON 23.9.2017

The department of History along with Department of Oriental languages of our college jointly organized national language of our country Hindi Day was celebrated in Gallery Room of our college on 23rd September, 2017. Sri G Venkatacharyulu, Hindi Pandit, Retired, St Xavier’s High School, Eluru delivered a guest  lecture on Hindi Day.  Head of the Department of Oriental languages Dr KVSPB Acharya presided over the meeting.  Dr.A Veerabhadra Rao Chief guest of the programme.  Dr. B Emmanuel, Head of the Department of History, Dr. RNV Rajarao,
Faculty member of Hindi and others participated in the programme. 72 students of Hindi as 2nd language are participated in the programme.

 



HISTORY TOUR TO AMARAVATHI ON 25TH SEPTEMB ER, 2017

The department of History conducted a Tour Programme for BA Students of our college to
Amaravathi, a new capital of Andhra Pradesh State.  95 students of our college from BA sections of  I year, II year and III year were participated in the tour programme.  Faculty members Sri M Vincent Paul, Sri M Gurupratap Reddy, B Sankar accompanied along with the students.  Students visited the Old Amaravathi, the ancient city and newly constructed city and Sachivalayam of AP. Dr. B Emmanuel, Head of the Department of History organized the programme.  

 


An awareness programme on voters’ day

On 25th January, 2018

On 25th January, 2018, observed as Voters’ Day in our college and organized an awareness programme.  We participated in rally and meeting conducted by the district authorities at KPDT High School, Ashok Nagar, Eluru. 203 students and faculty members participated.  Heads of the Departments of Social Work and History  Sri A Satyanarayana and Dr B Emmanuel convened the programme. All the participants took oath to participate and utilize the vote properly.

The Department of history along with political science department conducted a Guest lecture Programme on Gandhi’s Sathyagraham on 07-08-2019 at 3pm in the college audio visual hall by sri. M.Srinivasarao lecturer in political sience Govt Degree College Jangareddygudem was speaker. He prized The Roll of Gandhiji in the Freedom Struggle. He explained how an ordinary man like Gandhi became an extrodinary man by keeping a strict watch on him self and by fallowing sathyagraha and non violence. Truth is beauty and beauty is truth. Sathyagraha was a powerful weapon which was effectively used by Gandhiji which won india independence he added.

 Dr.K.S.Vishnu Moham correspondent attend the programme as the   Chief Guest. Dr. Ramaraju Incharge Principal presided over the meeting.Sri V.Swamulu HOD of History , N.Srinivasarao HOD Political Science, Smt S.A.L.Kalyani Lecturere in history,Smt Chilakamma Lecturere in Political science, Dr.B.Jagan Mohan Rao HOD of Maths,etc were participated in the programme. Nearly 77 students were participated and benfited from the Guest Lecture.

GUEST LECTURE

TOPIC: Freedom movement in AndraPradesh

 The departments of History and Political Scince  Conducted   a  guest lecture programme on freedom movement in Andhra pradesh on 29-11-2019 at 2pm in the college audio visual hall. Dr. D Rajyalakshmi H.O.D of History AG&SG siddhartha college of arts and science Vuyuru was  the resource person . she said that   Andhra pradesh played a big role in the freedom movement . People of Andhra developed a strong desire to get rid of the colonial rule of the british . Freedom fighters such as Alluri seeta rama raju,  P.Veeraiah chowdary, Duggirala .Gopala krishnaiah ,Raghupathi venkata rathnam naidu etc.waged a war against the British at different  times and sacrificed their lives for the cause of achieving freedom. she explained.

Dr.K.S.Vishnu mohan correspondent attended the programme as the chief guest .

Dr.K.A.Rama raju incharge principal presided over the meeting.

Sri V.Swamulu H.O.D of History, N.Srinivasa rao H.O.D of political science Smt S.A.L.Kalyani  lecturer in History Smt Chilakamma lecturer in Politics ,D.shankar Polaiah H.O.D of Economics etc were present at the meeting . Nearly 100 students attended and benifited from the guest lecture.
